MultiRes v1.58

lautrepay on 11 Jul 2012

MultiRes works very much like a 32-bit version of the venerable Microsoft QuickRes 16-bit applet for Windows 95, with administrative scripting facilities and extended capabilities to handle refresh rates and multiple monitors. Supported resolution and refresh rates are accessible from the command-line or from a simple menu that pops up from the system tray. An optional timed confirmation prompt "enabled by default in the program About box" ensures that any changes you make can be reversed safely, without fuss

be careful with this one! i accidentally assigned a hotkey that conflicted with one used by my file manager. when i hit the key to switch desktops, bosskey crashed, and i couldn't for the life of me get back to my other desktops, where unsaved work was calling to me. i lost an hour of writing because of this program...

"i accidentally assigned a hotkey that conflicted with one used by my file manager"

@jameson I think you would do better to be careful when assigning hotkeys

9.5/10 points.

I like this tool very much and use it all the time. It is my default color picker and window magnifier (window is resizable). It would get a 10/10 if it remembered window size and position from one session to another in an .ini file.

Despite what is written in the Synopsis above, I don't think that it does image grabbing.

@CD: You will have discovered by now that ZZoom offers you the option to copy an image of just its window content to the clipboard by pressing 'i' while the app is in focus. Clicking the '?' on the menu bar, one can see the command keys. This capture function is this app's weak point for me, and honestly I'm wondering how it saves settings between sessions. Anyone?

My only issue with this app is that it does not work with Semi-transparent windows. This makes it a bit of a boon to use with screen rulers.
