It needs and uses Internet Explorer, which is NOT portable. I'll have a serious look at this program if it can work with my browser of choice. I am now not al interested in it.

Latest version still says 1.12.39 in the Help / About menu. And the .exe file is exactly the same size as 1.12.39. So has it even been updated? |

version 1.41.09, Nov 08, 2010 [*]Added "Feb 29" as a valid date for yearly events. Added the possibility to edit an event directly from the main window, using Ctrl+DoubleClick when the pointer is over the event. Changed the $Age{} macro to accept zero and negative years. The English version of the $Age{} macro is always accepted, no matter the language of the program. Created the dutch version of the program (Thanks to Thibaud Chabot). |

Nice try, but... If you want a really cool and free daily reminder program, try DateTrac, available at soucek.clearwire.net/filetrac.html It reminds you at system boot time then exits, rather than remaining in your tray and sucking resource all day long. ZERO registry entries, so it's totally portable. Give it a try.

Nice look and feel. However, I gauge any reminder system by whether it can do the Thanksgiving (2nd Tuesday October in Canada or 4th Thursday November USA), or every x weeks. This one unfortunately doesn't do either. |

FYI, if anyone wants a command line tool for this type of thing, Microsoft has provided an app called filever.exe in their support tools since W2k. |

Alternatively to Archive.org's link, I've also created Manage My Fonts Portable in the PortableApps format. https://sourceforge.net/projects/managemyfontsportable/ |
Free PDF Editor allows you to insert text and images into text and image boxes, as well as rectangles and ellipses. Within a text box, you can change font, alignment, size, and color. Useful for creating quick-and-dirty PDFs without having to use OpenOffice or having access to a print-to-PDF program.
NOTE: This program merely exports to PDFs and cannot open them.

I guess this is a PDF *creator* and not editor... useful to create a PDF from scratch but can not edit existing ones...

It shouldn't be included in as a PDF editor.

As in 2010 year comments, this is not a real editor: it just can't open any pdf file. |
eTextReader lets you read plain text files in a book-like manner. It is also able to import text from RTF and HTML, or open files from with ZIP archives. You can customize the window size, font style/size etc. Page breaks are inserted automatically. You can also set bookmarks, find words/phrases, or edit the text with an internal text editor. A table of contents can also be created automatically.

The referred site does not mention anything about its portability. Makes me wary of unexpected surprises if put on a thumb drive. Any assurance (please!) |
There are two programs within the package. FontView displays all installed fonts in one window, which makes it easier to compare fonts and delete those that are similar. CharMap shows all characters in a font and copy characters to the clipboard, with the ability to increase the size of the characters displayed, something which the native Windows CharMap utility cannot do.
