OperaPassView v1.10

Checker on 21 Mar 2014

OperaPassView is a small password recovery tool that decrypts the content of the Opera Web browser password file (wand.dat) and displays the list of all Web site passwords stored in this file.

Category:
System Requirements: Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7
Writes settings to: Application folder
Stealth: ? Yes
License: Freeware
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch OperaPassView.exe.
What's new?
  • Fixed to detect properly the passwords of login.live.com and probably other Web sites.
  • Added /RawExport command-line option to export Opera wand file into a raw text file (without detecting which fields are the user names and passwords). This option is useful when OperaPassView fails to detect the user name / password field properly and displays other fields instead.
  • Added /LoadWand command-line option to specify the desired wand file to load.

This is a great program. Allows you to copy one or all of the passwords and save to a text file. Steve313, did you load the wand.dat file through the options?

IzZzI on 2010-02-26 09:44

Now it's work. Thanks.

Yeah, the developer mailed me that the master pasword is the problem.

@FileHandler As the disclaimer on the entry notes, you're not the first person to have problems with this. If we keep getting issues like this, I'll recommend we take it offline. I don't want to recommend something that doesn't work right.

hamasaki on 2018-02-03 02:23

I had similar issues, so never used it again. I had to reinstall a backup to fix most things.

Midas on 2018-02-03 22:01

As with all registry cleaning utilities, user discretion is utterly advisable. I use it on occasion and have never had such issues. Until proven that the issues reported are particular to Privazer, I would like for it not to be taken offline.

Quick Erase is a simple drag-and-drop file shredder, helping to prevent file recovery by renaming, overwriting, and resetting file date. The program offers 12 different deletion methods that vary from fast 1 pass approaches (zero-out or British HMG IS5), up to very slow 23-pass mechanisms (Rizonesoft's own South African RSDP-23).

  • Suggested by AlephX

Encopy rescues data from damaged media when standard system copy fails, freezes and or rejects the media. In cases where it is not possible to perform a full recovery, Encopy will try to copy as much data as possible from the damaged files.

Great for use in getting whatever data off a scratched CD or DVD whose copy would otherwise give up on a read error.

Tweaking.com Registry Backup v3.5.3 Updated

billon on 15 Aug 2018
  • 4MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 18 Nov 2016
  • Suggested by olliebean

Tweaking.com Registry Backup does live registry backups using Windows' own Volume Shadow Copy Service. The program is user-friendly and allows selection of specific registry files to backup or restore. Restored backups can be done via Safe Mode or from the recovery console.

Category:
System Requirements: WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Application folder
Dependencies: Administrator rights
Stealth: ? Yes
Unicode support: Yes
Path portability: Requires manual entry of relative path (eg. ..\..\personal\work.doc)
License: Freeware
How to extract:
  1. Download the "Portable" ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice
  2. Launch TweakingRegistryBackup.exe
  3. In the Settings tab, enter a relative path as the Backup Location

Note: If you are likely to want to restore from the recovery console, use a path relative to the drive root (e.g., "\RegBackup"), otherwise the restore script will fail.
What's new?
  • Updated ManageACL_32 and ManageACL_64 to v1.5.0.
  • Fixed and adjusted multiple areas of the user interface to better handle systems with high DPI enabled. Many new laptops are coming with HD screens that have a very large resolution and so their DPI is set very high to make programs and text readable. When this increase DPI was set many parts of the program didn't draw correctly. There are still a few areas that need adjusting but all the major ones have been fixed.
