I just downloaded it using ignoremail. They record your IP address when you download the file, so spoof it if you don't want them to see it. But here's the problem with the software: the executable file opens, but there is no on-screen keyboard anywhere. I was ready to start clicking away to test the product, but there isn't even a keyboard to use. The program is pretty much useless. Even the link that it has so you can visit the homepage takes you to a completely different product. I don't know why this thing is even online.

I tested MOK on Windows 7 x64 and it worked as expected, so I'm upvoting it.

@hamasaki: the issue has been bugging the developer for years...

@Midas. Thanks. It's ok, it's just the first time I've seen it and I've used BitDefender for quite awhile. Of course I took no notice of the warning. :)

Thanks JK. Great ruler for preparing basic scale drawings in MS Word etc. for DIY projects. I especially like the calibration facility, as I prefer to draw at a size that fits the screen space rather than be constrained to a fixed ruler measurement, so this is perfect for that. (Looked at PMeter, but it didn't seem to suit my purpose at all; nor did various others that were either too limited, irritating or had time limits.) :-)

gordon451 on 2014-06-25 06:48

Hi - I've been looking for a successor to the legendary Cool Ruler from FabSoft, which won't run on W7. Really, I need something that sits horizontally and vertically, measures in pixels, mouse/touchpad grab and move, AND allows me to put as many custom marks as I need.

Is this possible?

It's the last bit which is so frustrating. I've found ONE only which allows me to put ONE custom mark. I am getting quite frustrated that so many authors think I need all kinds of fancy goodies--but if I want a protractor or set-square, I will search one out! And it better have custom marks :[

I don't need colour pickers, magnifiers, diagonal placement, skins & etc. Even the "stay on top" is not truly necessary.

Gordon.

Smurf, that looks sweet, if it is portable I suggest this be added to database. (possibly as a replacement?)

There's a note:
D-Fend Reloaded may be installed in a portable operation mode (for USB-Sticks etc.).

My eyes lit up when I read that.

SYSTEM on 2011-07-17 09:39

I have updated the extraction instructions. Chris Morgan had pointed out that DOSBox is not portable if launched without any command-line switches.

SuperF4 v1.4

billon on 18 Feb 2019
  • 37KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 16 Feb 2019
  • Suggested by I am Baas

SuperF4 allows users to kill the foreground program when the key combination Ctrl+Alt+F4 is pressed. This is different from programs that respond to Windows' normal "close" hotkey Alt+F4, which only asks the foreground program to exit. This is important because many programs don't cooperate with a close request due to a bug, nag screens, or other issues.

Additionally, you can also kill a process by pressing Win+F4 and then clicking the window you wish to kill with your mouse. This mode behaves like xkill for GNU/Linux, BSD etc.

How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch SuperF4.exe.
Similar/alternative apps: Advanced Process Termination, ProcessKO, Task Killer
What's new? Released 1.4.
  • Fixed keyboard input lag. Thanks to Victor Robertson.
  • Do not enter xkill mode if Ctrl key is pressed. Ctrl+Win+F4 is a new shortcut to close virtual desktops, so we don’t want to prevent that. Thanks to José Rebelo.
  • Add a process blacklist, with explorer.exe in the list by default.

I apologize for my tardiness. I use Windows less and less every year, and I must confess that I have not even been running my own programs when I do. I hope this release makes up for it somewhat.

Easily my favorite color picking app, mainly for the compact size, any key locking, and one-click copying of values.

Adding HSL values would make it even better.

@davidroper

A mere seven years late, ...and counting....;-)

The 161 files included in the "tclocklight-040702-3.zip" package are mostly source modules kindly provided by the developer for the benefit of DIY hackers.

For basic execution, only the following files are required:

• TCLOCK .EXE 44544 09/07/2004 17:16 A--- tclock.exe
• TCLOCK .INI 1024 10/20/2016 15:09 A--- tclock.ini
• TCDLL~1 .TCL 48128 09/07/2004 17:16 A--- tcdll.tclock
• TCLANG .TXT 8234 06/10/2004 11:58 A--- tclang.txt
• TCMENU .TXT 477 05/09/2004 21:53 A--- tcmenu.txt

All the same, a nifty, teensy configurable clock utility, sitting pretty in WinXP system tray...;-)
