AppRemover worked well for me since I need to remove my AV from my Mac and this program supported this removal.

Now released as OPSWATappremover 3.0 and carries with it the OPSWAT toolbar (BHO) for InternetExplorer, Firefox and Chrome that it offers to install as a "favor" to users. Wants to do this EVERY time it is run and the check of the browsers delays startup EVERY time it runs. User has to opt-out every time, or it will be installed.

ExtMan v0.1.5.145

webfork on 2 Sep 2012

This allows viewing, edition, creation, and deletion of actions, as well as change the associated icons, choose if the extension will be hidden/shown and if a confirmation will be required to open a particular file extension after download.

Additionally, the program provides an option to choose the default action if multiple are available (the others appearing when you right-click and choose "Open With").

It's also possible to create a registry backup of one or multiple file extensions.

The program seems to always start in German, every time.
Also no settings are aparent.

webfork on 2012-09-02 16:40

donald: the flag icon is the trick, although some of the settings never quite go fully English ("such as the Applications for this Process" search)

lautrepay said "In fact, since the program does not save settings, it does always start in German."

This seems to be confirmation of my exact statement previous regarding starting in German and having NO SETTINGS.

Re: The trick, YES I noticed how to change to English MY POINT was it ALWAYS STARTS in German. (Just in case you missed that.)

So unless someone can show me that it will save the English setting I will assume that as I surmised it is standard behavior and I am still right.

ShellMenu View is great for eliminating unwanted menu items when right-clicking. Definitely worth the price ($0.00!)
Here's a post we did on ShellMenu View- http://www.softwarecrew.com/2011/05/keep-the-context-menu-in-order-with-shellmenuview/

@Magibon: No, they are completely different. Have you tested it?

Magibon on 2012-06-23 15:56

@ lautrepay

really? context menu support ?

why would i when im already using Open++ ?
sometimes i don't have to test it out, when i can read it.

im sure there are a few things that are different.. but the basic premise is the same... right-click context menu support.

it's even the same to uninstall..

lautrepay on 2012-06-23 17:20

@Magibon: With your criterion...

Browse the internet? Tabs? YouTube?
Opera is an exact copy of Internet Explorer. Just different name. It's even the same to uninstall...

Open .doc files? Spell checking? Insert images?
Abiword is an exact copy of LO Writer. Just different name. The basic premise is the same... Text processing.

I've been using Open++ for a long time before you discovered it. And I prefer Open++ over KuShellExtension. I'm not forcing you to test KSE, nor I'm recommending it.
But they are different. KSE has more similitudes with Fast Explorer than with Open++. That's all.
