7capture is a fast and easy high-quality screen capture software that allows the capture of windows' rounded corners and transparent backgrounds that have increased in popularity since Windows XP. It also enables export to semi-transparent PNG, JPEG, GIF or BMP image.

ZScreen is a screen and text capture program that can upload screenshots, pictures, text & files and put the URL in your clipboard in a single keystroke. The program also includes translation, automatic capture, watermarks, naming systems, a variety of image compression settings, color finder, capturing transparent or rounded windows, and much more.

Note that active development on this program has stopped. A forked version ShareX is also portable.

Taksi is a video/screen capture tool for 3D applications. It can capture from almost any DirectX, OpenGL or GDI window and capture video of the contents. Although videos can be compressed, this is not recommended as it further slows down an already taxing process

Note: this application is still in development and some features are not yet implemented (such as recording audio).

Snippy allows you to capture a particular region of the screen to the Windows clipboard, able to be pasted into any program that supports it. If cutting out a portion of an Internet Explorer window, the URL will also be copied to the clipboard. The region is an irregular shape by default, though you can capture a rectangular area holding down the Shift key while dragging.
