PC Decrapifier helps you remove many of the common trialware and crapware found installed by default on many of the PCs from big name OEMs. Toolbars, anti-virus and other trials, and many other tools that make money for the laptop makers, but just take up space on your computer without providing value. The program lets you check off items to be removed.

ShellBagsView displays the list of individual window's folder settings. These settings, saved to the registry every time an Explorer window is opened, include date/time opened, entry number, display mode (Details, Icons, Tiles, and so on...), the last position of the window, and the last size of the window.

Nice utility but I wish I never downloaded it because I keep checking the bags and wind up deleting them all the time! There are really a lot of shellbags-everytime you open a folder it creates a bag.HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam -DELETE THE SUBKEYS,bagmru and bags then folders will be reset.Helps if windows does not remember folder settings. |
FileTypesMan is an alternative to the 'File Types' tab in the 'Folder Options' of Windows. It displays the list of all file extensions and types registered on your computer. For each file type, the following information is displayed: Type Name, Description, MIME Type, Perceived Type, Flags, Browser Flags, and more. FileTypesMan also allows you to easily edit the properties and flags of each file type, as well as it allows you to add, edit, and remove actions in a file type.

I'm really surprised - it works even for replacing txt notepad by another application! Well done, it seems to be really useful!

Although it is extra useful, be extra careful with it or you might screw your system -- check, check, check, & recheck whatever you do.

I stumbled upon this app. accidentally when trying to replace my system icon for .reg files. I used to use IconPhile, but it's process is hidden. Sometimes it's hard to undo. |
ShellExView displays the details of shell extensions installed on your machine and allows you to easily enable/disable each shell extension. ShellExView comes in handy for solving problems caused by third party shell extensions.

I really like this simple program. I used it first to hide/disable a corrupted Magic ISO contextual menu in mere seconds. Then later on I learned about some features of Explorer that could be turned off using this program, so I did that. It worked both times without any problems. I like that you can undo the changes too if you like. Good program. Thanks for updating this. |

Now released as OPSWATappremover 3.0 and carries with it the OPSWAT toolbar (BHO) for InternetExplorer, Firefox and Chrome that it offers to install as a "favor" to users. Wants to do this EVERY time it is run and the check of the browsers delays startup EVERY time it runs. User has to opt-out every time, or it will be installed. |
