Try KMPlayer

byterhythm on 2007-09-02 23:26

you guys are retards, ive tried it and it is better than vlc or mpc, imo, and I haven't encountered any problem whatsoever with it

I compressed all binaries with upx --lzma and I was able to reduce it to 18mb

Since rulesPlayer and SMPlayer are essentially the same thing, how do they compare to each other, what's different (besides the interface), which is more feature filled and stable?

MPUI is a graphical frontend for MPlayer, a cross-platform media decoder that plays hundreds of different video and audio formats, including DVD and DivX, without additional codecs. It includes support for multiple audio/subtitle tracks, keyboard navigation and OSD. Important settings such as aspect ratio, deinterlacing and postprocessing can be configured via the GUI interface.

Note: The version of MPlayer packaged with MPUI may not be the latest and does not contain the complete list of codecs. You may want to head to the MPlayer website and download the most recent MPlayer EXE and codecs, then unzip them to the MPUI folder.

System Requirements: WinNT / Win2K / WinXP
Writes settings to: Application folder
Unicode support: No
License: Freeware/Open Source
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch MPUI.exe.

I unzipped and started MPUI.exe.
The interface seems to be in Hungarian (I think).
Could someone advice how to set this to English?

@ Andrew Lee & charles: There's a registry hack described here (next to last in the list) to stop Windows from logging apps run and files & docs accessed: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoInstrumentation"="1" . Also, gives several other methods for accomplishing the task. Cheers!
