RBTray v4.14

Andrew Lee on 21 Mar 2022
  • 149KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 21 Mar 2022
  • Suggested by modussn

RBTray allows you to minimize application windows to the system tray by:

  • Right-Clicking its minimize button
  • Shift-Right-Clicking on its title bar
  • Using the Windows-Alt-Down hotkey
Note that not all all of these methods will work for every window, so please use whichever one works for your needs.

Restore a window by left clicking that window's tray icon, or by selecting 'Restore Window' from the tray icon's right-click menu.

Note: The program has no tray icon of its own. To exit the application, minimize a window, right-click the resulting tray icon and choose 'Exit RBTray'. Alternatively, run RBTray.exe with the "--exit" parameter.

So I am using RBTray, but it is not working on Firefox and Opera. Right Click does not minimize these browsers to tray.

PAFuser on 2021-09-19 10:09

Works fine on Firefox if Title Bar visible, if not use Shift-Right-Clicking on Tab Bar (mine in on top) or Windows-Alt-Down. Also works with Thunderbird. Do not use Opera, but one of the three methods in description seems to work on every program I use, so give it a try.

PAFuser on 2022-03-21 09:42

All 3 methods work on Firefox without Title Bar in 4.14 version. Great app.

thanks for the tip billybox, i've been looking forever trying to resize the text to a readable state..

Maximilian on 2007-04-30 21:12

Wow, this is not only the most visually appealing, but also the most useful hex editor I've ever tried!

I agree with BillyBob in that the default font (Fixed Roman) is way too small. It would have been better if the author set the default to "OEM Fixed Font" or something.

I also like Autumn, and look forward to more color schemes.

rgann on 2007-12-12 00:57

Yes, it has some unusual features, but it is not truely portable. After installing and playing with it for a while, I discovered that it stored the primary (font selection, colors, etc) in two files (hexplorer.dat and mclip.dat) in "%windir%\Application Data". I did not use all the features and tools so other files may be created.

@mrpink
Thank you. I updated the entry to include the information about esihdrv.sys. I did notice the driver in the temp folder but am not sure how I missed the registry keys when testing ESET SysInspector the first time. Anyway, if anyone needs help in deleting those LEGACY_ESIHDRV keys from the registry, see http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8703

DriveCleanup v1.6.1

DriveCleanup removes all currently non present "Storage Volumes", "Disk", "CDROM", "Floppy" USB drives and their USB devices from the device tree. Furthermore it removes orphaned registry items related to these device types. Both are not removed by similar programs on the site and take up space on the registry, eventually slow down a computer over time.

To preview program actions, start with argument -T (test mode).

A 64-bit version is available (within the folder).

IMHO, currently the best .nfo and .diz file viewer coupled with a pretty decent text editor; NFOPad can save its settings to the registry or in an INI file.

In my eternal quest for optimization I (accidentally) removed NTP support from my XP installation through nLite, so this program is very useful to restore lost functionality at a small footprint :)

shodan816 on 2012-08-09 12:28

As a couple of others have stated, this utility is completely unnecessary for Windows XP, Vista and Win7 because they already have time synchronizers built in. Other than for a school assignment for 'Intro to Programming 101,' I have no idea why someone would waste their time writing it.
