SearchMyFiles v3.00 Updated

billon on 16 Jul 2019

SearchMyFiles is a powerful alternative to the standard Windows search. It allows you to easily find files by wildcard, last modified/created/last accessed time, file attributes, content (text or binary search), and file size. The program is non-indexing, meaning it searches the drive directly, which is often slower but more accurate.

Can also be used to detect duplicate files via the "Search Mode" drop-down box.

  • When choosing the 'Find Folders' option, SearchMyFiles now displays only the folders that match the specified wildcard in the 'Files Wildcard' field.

I have tried and used several search apps before and was not very impressed but as soon as I saw that this product was from NirSoft I knew I had to try it. NirSoft makes so many great apps that I use a lot, its difficult to say something new about them due to the fact that just about everything they make works great and is pretty awesome overall. One thing is 4sure the native Micro$oft search engine is close to worthless, so just about anything will be an improvement.

Agree with Crid. Might have had some issues initially, but I use it regularly each day without issues. Its such a timesaver. And having the shortcut to pop up the menu is superb. Not seen any other clipboard utlities come close to this one.

hamasaki on 2013-07-29 12:41

I think Arsclip makes all other clipboard utilities redundant, its that good. Could have a better name though.

Testing, testing, testing... ArsClip is just so convenient, productive, agile, intuitive, effective... This long-rightClick way to show the PopUp is just so Killer, wow! This App rocks of course.

Overall this is an okay program not as good as Quick Cliq IMO and experience. Which is the main reason I wanted to comment as it is still being developed a new version came out 04/16/2018 that fixed a lot of Windows 10 issues. Personally speaking I also really don't like the donation bullying in QAP. I don't mind some well placed donation buttons especially in editors windows..etc but a perma-link in the main menu just leaves a bad impression on me.

I came to this software from Chameleon Folder. QAP has more features! I like the ability to open a preset location inside of a file dialog. Very useful!

I like this player a lot. I love that it can be setup to use relative paths for the music folder (I had to edit the config file for this). My only gripe so far is that it will not read the coverart from the ID3 tags... it only looks at the art in the folders.
