Download link is dead.

FlashY_Fool on 2011-03-16 13:22

DL-ed it- Used it- Loved it
It's Irreplaceable

The only problem for me is it's bookmark feature
I'd say Comic Viewer is better when it comes to Bookmarking

File Replicator v1.2.1

lautrepay on 12 Jul 2012

File Replicator allows you to replace a file in a destination directory that has many instances of the file, without having to manually search.

For example, if 7-zip.exe is a component of many programs in your portable collection, you'll want the latest and greatest version added to all of them. Simply select the destination to search (e.g. USB drive letter) and the file you wish to replace. From there it will search the drive and show a list of successful files found and ask if you wish to overwrite.

How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch FileReplicator.exe.

  • Added Windows 7 to the supported and tested OS lists.
  • Removed Windows Vista from the tested OS list because I no longer have any PCs running Windows Vista to test on. The OS will remain on the supported list.
  • Includes v2 Revision 2.1.0 of the File Replicator Manual.
  • Installer upgraded to Script Setup Utility v2.6.1.
  • Made several changes to how version information is interpreted and displayed.

FreeOTFE v5.21

Checker on 15 Mar 2014
  • 8MB (uncompressed)
  • Suggested by Rails

FreeOTFE, named for "on-the-fly disk encryption" creates one or more encrypted virtual disks using numerous available encryption algorithms (e.g. AES, Twofish, Serpent, and many more), and can be used to encrypt entire partitions. A separate application that doesn't require administrative rights called FreeOTFE Explorer is also available from the same site, using an Explorer-like interface (see version comparison).

64-bit users: FreeOTFE Explorer is functional, but Windows 7 64-bit users cannot use FreeOTFE as the drivers are unsigned.

Note: On startup, you will receive a message asking you to use portable mode drivers to start the virtual disk drivers (you need administrator rights to do this, otherwise the menu item will be grayed out). When you shutdown the program, you will also be given the option to stop the virtual disk drivers.

Note: Site offline -- linking to Sourceforge mirror.

Category:
System Requirements: Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7

Optionally, to disable the "do you want to enable portable mode?" prompt:

or

* Open the View - Options menu and select the Advanced tab. Click Autostart portable mode if FreeOTFE drivers not installed/running
What's new?
  • Added Russian language translation.
  • Added translator credit to "About..." dialog.
  • Minor tweaks to portableapps .com launcher.

Peter202: for reasons I can get into in the forums, I still recommend TrueCrypt despite issues mentioned in the press. Still for most people, FreeOTFE is more than adequate.

Peter202 on 2014-12-24 10:27

@webfork What exactly is the danger of using TrueCrypt? I need encryption software mostly to create a virtual volume from which i want to run my portable applications.

webfork on 2014-12-27 01:54

Peter202: please see http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=69884#p69884 ... I still use TrueCrypt.

XVI32 has scripts and XVIscript editor, but HxD has not (yet) these features. Please look inside HxD forum http://forum.mh-nexus.de/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=196

No better editor for viewing and editing large hex files.

boy genius on 2011-02-22 06:52

^ Opened up a 4 GB file. Editing/saving changes was possible; albeit saving was little slow the first time - after that saving is instantaneous. I am even able fill parts with random data, thus manually destroying the file. I haven't found anything else that could do such a thing. Notepad++, and others choke on such a huge file. I know there's other hex editors but this one satisfies.
