And who says size doesn't matter, both of these seem to work OK so now its just a matter of personal preference, I would think. Checker has brought more great software into the light, thanks to him and the developer. :)

@__philippe & @MIKLO
TyperTask does not support Unicode.

I've had a bit better luck with QuickTextPaste on Win10x64 by using commands other than those that use the "Win" key in combinations. It only sometimes triggers properly. Much better to use CTRL+ALT, CTRL+SHIFT, etc.

I've been using Don't Sleep for some time now and it works great for me. It updates frequently but I never had a problem with the many previous versions. I use it when doing routine unattended maintenance, when making large backups and downloads.

allclownsareevil on 2012-02-05 19:20

I think "Don't Sleep" should win an award for the most updated program on TPFW. :-) Works well though, thanks.

MIKLO on 2017-07-02 14:24

WOW no comments for such a long time, this is a program I have used for many years and it still works great for me even now while using Windoze 10 does just what it says and does it perfectly.

This Editor is glorious!
Ive searched an Editor that can open more than thousand textfiles without any loss of speed and finnaly I found PlainEdit.

Carbonize on 2008-10-13 12:50

@GBJ - Thats because an RTF file (Rich Text Format) is a word processor document such as produced by Word, Wordpad etc and this program is a text editor.

@Exo - Why the hell would you want to open more than a hundred text files at a time let alone over a thousand?

Anyway just tried this and it has some bugs in rendering such as the edge of letters being cut off by the next letter and some characters being coloured wrongly until you highlight them at which point they change to the correct colour.

smaragdus on 2014-09-05 01:28

The latest version of PlainEdit.NET is 1.4.2.0 and in fact it supports Unicode- go to 'Extras'-'Settings'-'Editor'-'File Format'- then choose 'UTF-8' for example.

I really like this simple program. I used it first to hide/disable a corrupted Magic ISO contextual menu in mere seconds. Then later on I learned about some features of Explorer that could be turned off using this program, so I did that. It worked both times without any problems. I like that you can undo the changes too if you like. Good program. Thanks for updating this.

rogerthedodger on 2013-06-01 00:37

Love this program, recently had the dreaded explorer crash and this program allowed me to easily identify the culprit, and a uninstall/reinstall of the offending (acronis) software fixed my issue. Would have spent an eternity without this software. Should be part of Windoze.
