[Anonymous] LucasNice program, but v. 2.0.3 is not able to handle Vista-user-folders. For instance: the folders "C:\Users\$user$\AppData\Local\Application Data" or "C:\Users\$user$\Documents\Mijn muziek" can not be found by Toucan. This is because these folders actually don't exist on my Vista-machine, but only exist als links to another folder. [2009-01-14 13:00]

[Anonymous] PeZettVersion 2.0.5 crashes when starting from a Stick (Toucan.exe has detected a problem ...). Starting it from a HDD will cause no problems. ???

[Anonymous] MidasGreat idea, poor implementation. I don't much care for PortableApps mandatory folder structure and launcher, I'd rather have a easily identifiable executable with its dependencies in a folder ready to be tossed around and linked at will. There are other (better) choices...

But I liked what I saw of the interface.

[Anonymous] Bruce@Lucas: Rather than using those links (which only exist for backwards compatibility with XP), you should be using C:\Users\$user$\AppData\Local and C:\Users\$user$\Music instead. [2009-02-22 06:10]

[Anonymous] MeksSame with me, doesn't work from the stick. [2009-02-23 05:05]

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
