RK Launcher is a Windows taskbar replacement for those of you with Mac-envy. It gives you a "dock" that resembles the one found on OS-X, complete with interactive zooming, thumbnails for minimized window and lots of other eye-candy.

This Programm is not really usable for Portable-Apping because (as Portable Fan said) the lack of relative Paths.
Nevertheless it is a beautifull Prog wich also runs on my Desktop-PC.
I've searched a long time for a good USB-Drive Applauncher.
Meantime I'm stuck with the wonderfull NU2Menu (cascaded with shortpopup), wich supports relative path and a bunch of usefull script-commands http://www.nu2.nu/nu2menu/
Works fine with relative paths. It wont keep me from using PStart to manage 300+ apps, but it could be a very nice launcher for my most used ones.
To make relative paths work just edit them in the item's properties to your needs.
Besides arguments and home folder this program also handles variables like %SYSTEMROOT%, which (at least in terms of portable-apping) makes it the most portable launcher I have tried so far...
Ahhh... You can use relative location. I spoke too soon. Also you can configure how many icons to magnify (to imitate ObjectDock's Wide or Narrow mode). This program is amazing and can do more than I thought.
I really like the idea of a task bar that shows window thumbnails instead of icons. But the "Mac-Envy" approach turns me off. I want a solution that works with the rest of the Windows UI.
For the relative paths, just use the "..\directoryOfTheProgram\Program.exe"
Seams to work.
THanks for telling me how to make the relitive paths...I will try.
Do you think they would work on a school/uni network based computer???
RocketDock or YZdock are the best alternative to OSX's.
Hi at all,
I installed the rk launcher on my notebook - vista operating system - without using the GDIPLUS.DLL. Since around the same time as i used the rk launcher, my CPU went crazy, never lowering beneath 50% usage (the usage comes from an svchost process). Is it possible that rk launcher caused this problem? & does anyone have any idea what i could do to fix it>?
thanks 2 all,
it may caused by the Recycle Bin docklet
don't check 'show number of items and size', or just cleanup your recycle bin, it will be resolved
This is pretty sweet not hard to download at all! 5 stars
This thing just won't start anymore on my XP machine and I have no idea why...
V0.4 Beta
This is a portable, minimalist ObjectDock. In fact, it seems like it's made directly off an older version of ObjectDock (I haven't researched it, so maybe it is). Anyhow, I compared and it takes up as much resources as OD. Unfortunately, it does not have as many options as OD, or any real advanced option at all. Nonetheless, it is free and it is portable. If there was an option for relative location of programs, this would be an incredible program. I recommend this for those who don't want to pay for ObjectDock plus, it's a great program!
