This program is terrible, its difficult to use, the author makes it a pain to learn. You can't easily add tracks to cue sheets and did I mention its terrible? The developer of this application needs to quit programming.

Tony 2006-11-24 02:51

haven't installed the program yet so can't say if good or terrible, in any case looking forward to evaluating the "performance" of mr. Jammywanks, who sounds to be a master in programming and developing sw. Don't know what the developer should do but I'm sure mr. Jammywanks needs attending several politeness and good manners lessons.

PS I'm not the programmer neither know him.

I think this program is a joy to use. If you want to prune the ends of an mp3 or just save a section out of the middle, it's as easy as cut-n-paste. I would recommend it to anyone.

PeterM 2007-02-27 07:07

The program is fairly simple & effective to use and
it does its job well.

One thing that could be looked at is whether optimal frames
for cutting could be flagged up in a different color as
cutting in the wrong place produces a glitch in the sound.

Easy to use program (as noted by people who've actually used it). It does what it's supposed to do and that's to cut up mp3's in whatever chunks you need them to be cut up into. I wish the developer would make one for video's that was this easy or give lessons.

Took about two minutes to learn how to use it. Very elegant, useful program. Handy for cutting out the spoilers they put at the start of audio books ....

The prog works perfectly well. What Jammywanks needs to do
is shutting up.

I think this program is a joy to use.

works as "advertised", nothing more, nothing less, thanks for the great find :-)

Re: my previous comment

The problems I had with glitches in the sound related to
cutting sections in my MP3 files. These were Constant Bit
Rate MP3s. I found that VBR files were more tolerant to
cutting so I have switched to using variable bit rate.

Useful and small program. Works fine and it is simple to use. No problems founded here.

Jia 2007-11-09 01:53

No difficulty with this program doing what it says.
We all hope another soft still better from the becoming famous now Jammywanks. Could he answer, please? Let him know, mister moderator.

Great little program -- simple, I use it constantly, no problems. Well done.

Saul 2007-11-10 05:34

I love that it doesn't reencode the file. Used it for splitting and trimming long mp3 recordings. I did spend a little time figuring out how to do some things but was just glad it did what it was supposed todo.

dMark 2007-12-30 22:47

Just the splitter I was looking for. Small footprint, easy and intuitive to use, and works fast. Thanks!

george55 2008-04-02 12:51

I use it constantly, no problems.

Tala 2008-05-11 23:44

Very handy, works great. Took me five minutes to get used to a few things, this is definitely one to keep.

jiten 2008-09-10 04:05

simpale for use and works fast
thanks

I've been using this program for about 4 months (non-portable version) to speedily edit the output of my Zoom H2 digital recorder. I can edit an hour-long MP3 to source for a CD in less than 5 minutes using this software. If you need to trim and splice MP3 files FAST, without conversion issues, get this IMMEDIATELY

ThirteenClocks 2009-06-16 12:23

Best program for this particular job. Simple to use and accurate when you figure out how to use it, which took me about five minutes. For more demanding jobs, Audacity is the one. For quick trimming, this is it.

Billy 2009-09-12 05:56

This program is a great tool for cutting out sections of an mp3. BTW, it's not a music editing program, so don't think of adding tracks or fancy loops. Great for producing tones for your phone

frantisek 2010-03-16 13:36

it is a good program. I use it mainly for normalisation and it works flawlessly.

Midwest_Dave 2010-05-23 03:52

One of my all-time favorite programs. Simply and effective.

cosmin 2010-05-23 11:05

Can this really be done? Edit an mp3 without reencoding?

Patrick 2010-09-20 09:13

I know that the program -and especially the help- might be improved but the after having studied the help i can tell u that this program is great and does what no other programs do.

Michi-Mi 2010-09-26 18:30

This program tackles a certain set of editing tasks and for those, it works quite excellently. Even the user interface is quite understandable if you bring a pinch of patience, not easy for this sort of chores. Much much better than so many other li'l apps. It's a great little helper for the mp3 toolbox, with few glitches.
Jammywanks's comment is best forgotten, it seems he hasn't bothered to grasp what the program is for .. let's not waste more breath there.

Midwest dude 2011-01-03 21:27

One of my all-time favorite programs. I've recorded and converted tons of songs with this little app. Simply fantastic and highly recommended if you don't need or want a bunch of bells and whistles.

Middle Richard 2011-03-09 19:50

Great Programme but I can't get it to install in Windows 7.
Any hints??

V2.13

Magibon 2011-08-19 10:45

@ Middle Richard

the whole point of this forum is "Portable" Freeware.

thus, you don't have to install.
use "Universal Extractor" and extract the installer.
then you can use MP3directcut without installation.
read above for detailed instructions.

You can get Universal Extractor here:

V2.13

freakazoid 2011-08-20 00:15

@Magibon - mp3DirectCut doesn't use an installer; it uses a self-extracting archive.
