[Anonymous] Andrew Lee5.2.1 is currently in beta. I try not to list beta versions if a final version is available, unless there are good reasons to do so. [2006-12-08 05:11]

[Anonymous] jsimloNew version 5.3.1.beta has been released. [2007-04-18 07:46]

[Anonymous] BrainsIt could be very handy if knew what the D'n'D was. Strange enough, it doesn't. [2008-02-02 14:44]

[Anonymous] KewThere is a new version, 5.4.1. Released just today.. ;) [2009-04-30 08:38]

[Anonymous] WebforkAlthough it claims on the website that it allows for multiple undo levels, both Unicode and ANSI versions of version 5.4.1 didn't allow it.

Despite this, still a great notepad replacement with tons of smart features.

[User] MidasThis v5.4.2 could be THE killer text editor, if it wasn't for the quirky and sometimes downright confusing interface options (aggravated by lack of customization for the zillion keyboard shortcuts TN supports) and the consistent refusal of the developer to even allow a toolbar -- sticking by his "chrome-less freeware text editor" meme. Nonetheless, well worth checking... [2010-02-05 23:56]

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
