Synopsis: Atomic Butcher is a side-scrolling action game in the spirit of Abuse, but much more violent and graphic. Battle across the radiation-warped wasteland of Earth in search for meat to feed your shelter, using the mouse to aim and the keyboard to move. Please note that this game is NOT for the easily offended, as it contains plenty of blood, gore and urine. There is also a package offered that does not contain the music files, which cuts the size in half (roughly 30 megabytes).
Writes settings to: Application Folder
How to extract: Download the zip package and extract to a folder of your choice. Then download the v1.1 patch and extract its contents to the same directory, overwriting all necessary files. Launch the program by double-clicking AtomicButcher.exe.
License: Freeware
System Requirements: Win98 / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP

[Anonymous] JoshTo Change the Keys for movement shooting etc open autoexec.cfg in notepad (or other such program) it's a plain text document. You will see something like "bind KEY_D EV_WALK_RIGHT" change "D" to "RIGHT" (don't know if caps are essential but it's best not to mess with it). I have tested this (by typing "LEFT" in the Place of "A" and this did the trick. I'm left handed so it's easier for me to use the arrow keys when also controlling my mouse. Will post more if I can get buttons like CTRL and ALT to work giving the game a Doom/Quake/Duke Nukem Feel [2006-08-07 19:12]

[Anonymous] DavidHi there! I just accidentally stumbled across your comment. It's funny to see how people find their ways to change our settings :)
Here are the literals you might be looking for (I know, these should've been on our website since ages): KEY_LSHIFT, KEY_RSHIFT, KEY_LCONTROL, KEY_RCONTROL, KEY_ALT, KEY_ALTGR. Hope that helps, and have fun playing! :)

Meatfully yours,
David.

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
