Dex: Nice app, small&fast, very cute preview ability :)
But it would be fantastic if wildcard characters (*, ?) could be included in search string! [2007-07-05 01:58]
Gert: It isn't possible to search only *.doc files or *.rtf files. [2008-04-10 01:30]
Mike Mills: You can save the .htm file by renaming it so that it is not over-written with the next search if you wish to save a search. [2008-04-10 06:07]
A30N: Works like a charm in Windows 7 build 7048 x64! You can disable and remove Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Search from within 'Programs & Features', and then use this and firefox (or opera) for a faster, leaner, and safer machine. [2009-03-13 13:26]
alfblack: looks good. but I prefer agent ransack. another free search program that does support wildcard (and regex).
Not as cute but more functional [2009-08-04 05:17]
Marko: Right click to zip with 7zip does no show in context menu? [2009-08-05 02:57]
Anonymous: My favourite search tool is Everything: http://www.voidtools.com/
It's super fast, has a simple interface and supports regex. However, I'll keep this on hand for network searches as Everything doesn't support UNC file paths at this stage. [2009-08-05 07:23]
granny: I tried Snowbird in earlier versions, kind of "meh".
This version much better, at least it doesnt immediately crash like v 5 did for me.
BUT --- BUT --- BUT ---- I can't find any PREVIEW WINDOW. Perhaps this feature has been dropped, this software seems to change a lot with each release. If anyone can tell me how to get that preview, I'd be grateful. [2010-02-03 04:35]

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
