Shadow: Try playing RM files in VLC. If the size bothers you, just download essential codecs, which still plays about as much as VLC. Plus VLC's subtitles are horrible and the interface leaves much to be desired. [2006-07-11 06:50]

 [BOT]Fluffy: Buffy, the K-Lite codec pack will not affect any mplayer distrobution or VLC since they use their own codecs. And the K-Lite codec pack is terrible anyways, as is the Real Media format. I suggest that instead of trying to play such files you try to obtain other versions of the files or transcode them (I know Real is a pain and probably makes everything difficult, so transcoding might not be possible). And I can assure you that this player is much faster, as VLC uses the slower GTK to render its interface while rulesPlayer is programmed in the D language, which is very fast.  TheZorch: I liked Mplayer on Linux and the original Mplayer Frontend for Windows. I can't get the video to look right with rulesPlayer. The FAQ file says to adjust my overlay video settings for my video card but that doesn't help at all. I prefer the current software and VLC for other stuffl. [2007-01-29 13:01]

 Bill: I've been using MPUI for awhile now but I like some of the additional features in rulesPlayer. I'm having the same problem with an almost unreadable white background on rulesPlayer but not on MPUI. (Same problem that Christopher mentioned 6 months ago). I looked for color controls to reset brightness and I found one option under Video that just says Reset Color Controls. I doesn't seem to do anything. Also, having difficulty with the increase/decrease speed controls not working right. [2007-01-29 23:12]
