[Anonymous] WebforkOn older installations, this might speed things up quite a bit. This is because a smaller registry means a faster startup, and deleting a lot of old, useless data hidden in the system registry means less read time at startup. Much is left behind when you uninstall programs or change settings, creating a need for RegClean. Can also clean up traces left behind by less-than-totally-portable apps, improving privacy. [2007-10-23 00:03]

[Anonymous] ArckeronAttention with this software!!! He is very effective but maybe too much! I have some issues with Cubase/HAlion and my audio drivers. [2007-10-24 00:40]

[Anonymous] Steve H.I too ran into a problem with this app. at firt I was like WOW I like this does a great job. No need to have registry First Aid anymore and this ones portable!

My problems wasn't with audio drivers but with internet script errors and when clicking on about/website in a program it would load the site twice. I could't start/stop microsoft updates.. everything was grayed out on me :(
Couldnt creat a new user on the system. (got script error)
every site I went to in IE resulted in script errors. well after downloading 4 other programs to try and fix these problems with no results I found a program called Dial-a-fix
I ran this program and it did it things and now Im back in a happy mood. This tool can be found on this site at. http://www.portablefreeware.com/?q=dial-a-fix&m=Search

This app saved me from re-installing WinXP
Hope others find this tool as good as I did.

[Anonymous] ThudThe download site only has a setup.exe inside of the .zip file, and wants to install to the \program files folder. I do not see a "Portable" version at the web site. What up with this? [2008-01-18 14:49]

[Anonymous] MattNWSo far it's worked OK for me but I haven't given it a thorough test yet.

Thud, it installs to any folder you choose. Just install it to a folder and then copy the extracted files onto your portable device.

[Anonymous] word to the wisethese sorts of apps are a headache. you think to yourself, gee, clean up the registry... who wouldn't want that?!! but, other than ccleaner, which only cleans out things which definitely won't fux up your system, I'd stay away from everything else. regseeker in particular has screwed me up at least twice. [2008-10-27 07:40]

[User] webforkI had some problems with this program on two systems I used it on. Would use with caution and only with some knowledge of the windows registry. [2010-03-19 15:08]

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
