[Anonymous] Andreas SchamanekNope, no thanks. Besides the fact that it is apparently lacking some style (of programming) it just did not work. I tried it with IMAPs and SMTP/TLS. Nada. [2006-04-20 02:43]

[Anonymous] Big AlDid not work after six tries and three different names. [2006-04-20 10:54]

[Anonymous] BruceIt worked for me fine for my Gmail accounts. However, lacks some useful features. But for a such a small email client, it is okay. [2006-04-21 08:53]

[Anonymous] HrWaspHas never worked and now it appears here. It started to work then died. I've been trying to get the authors attention but it falls on deaf ears. [2006-10-11 04:20]

[Anonymous] Cuong H. DUONGKoma-Mail works, is small (less than 2 Mb after UPX compression), is SSL (Gmail) and HTML capable, includes an RSS reader and has many useful features, but I just could not get used to the ergonomics of the program.

Looks: standard windows, but there is just something that makes it look uglier than normal windows. Windows: pops up at the wrong time, in the wrong place -- just a bit bothersome. Finally, there is something buggy about the display. Most of the times, when I drag a message from the message window to a folder, everthing works fine. About 30% of the time, the display encounters problems and leaves remnants of the cursor everywhere...

In summary, it works, but is "unrefined".

[Anonymous] ZeraKoma-Mail worked great for me, a little slow but worked great, really nice spam filter, and easy to use interface that works just fine with my email provider (www.gawab.com) FYI: Yahoo is not a pop3 Email unless you pay for the premium. [2007-04-29 16:22]

[Anonymous] JsBGreat little Email client once you get used to it.

Oly ting missin is spell checkin...

[Anonymous] Aaronhey Zera, check out YPOPs! (not portable ?) if you want to grab Yahoo email into email client ... though it's not always smooth with installed Outlook Express. Assuming it'll work with Koma-Mail, never tried ? [2007-11-24 09:39]

[Anonymous] Mike MillsNo version of Koma mail has worked for me since v 3.59
I do like it however. Installing the newer versions in the original directory caused apparent loss of data. When the original was re-installed to the same directory, the data re-appeared. Keep your originals, and install updates to a new directory for testing.

[Anonymous] NoraI can't understand all these negative comments. I tried Koma-mail after a lot of other software (foxmail, thunderbird, eudora and so on) and I think it's very easy and confortable to parametrize and use.
It's not heavy, not annoying, not hard to use (have you never seen Mulberrymail ?). When I needed a personalization I wrote in the forum and the author was very kind to find a solution and to send me a beta compilation to test it.
I decided to install it on all my pc (Xp and W98), not only on pendrive, and with all my mailboxes (I work with 37 different mailbox accounts). Now we are trying to add or modify many other features and our dialog is very nice.

If I read the popularity score it is the higher after (the heavy) Thunderbird, and if I read abuot your comments they are all negative and absolutely contrary at my test and opinion. I thing it's strange . . .

[Anonymous] AndrejI think KOMA developed much from the 1st comments from 2006. I have tried it and loved it (Gmail - IMAP). Most of all is free & portable. [2008-07-10 03:29]

[Anonymous] JayThis email client is working faster than thunderbird usb. It is nice but needs soem enhancements for example in speed. For such a small client, faster performance is expected like Mini mail. [2008-09-11 22:46]

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
