[Anonymous] ai think floppy office should be in place of Spread32, since it includes that and more. [2006-10-01 14:42]

[Anonymous] Andrew LeeI have listed Floppy Office under "Links". In general, I try to list individual appplications instead of collections in the database. [2006-10-02 06:45]

[Anonymous] AlephXhttp://www.xtort.net/apps/S32118.zip is where you can download the single application, thanks to Xtort.net [2007-01-18 05:34]

[Anonymous] AlephX...but actually it´s bigger than the one included in Floppy Office (10x bigger) [2007-01-18 05:44]

[Anonymous] Andrew LeeThe version you posted is a newer version with more functions. Unfortunately, it writes a number of settings to the registry (toolbar, formula bar, status bar, recent files), so it is not very portable. [2007-01-19 05:56]

[Anonymous] CrisNice, but old. Try Gnumeric Portable (Gnome Office Spreadsheet) http://www.tanisthalon.karoo.net/gnumericportable.html [2007-04-01 16:33]

[Anonymous] LocalYup it is very old, but really useful for day to day stuff.
I use this every day and only ever bother with excel if there is something complicated or professional looking that needs doing

[Anonymous] NhJust an EXCELlent program. You say it's very basic but really it's full of advanced features. [2008-01-09 03:46]

[Anonymous] rengabthe last freeware version 1.18 i use everyday for office work and it can do more than 90% of the tasks i do [2008-03-12 20:01]

[Anonymous] Ashghost@Nh: The version in the Floppy Office bundle is EXTREMELY limited. The last freeware version is MUCH more powerful.

The settings it saves are only those that Andrew listed: a recent files list and whether the 3 bars are showing. So it's not stealth, but portable IMHO.

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
