Free Digital Camera Enhancer improves photo quality by performing noise reduction, skin smoothing and automatic balance control for you. It works best for portraits or close-ups taken under bad lighting condition.

Runs on: | Win95 / Win98 / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP |
Writes settings to: | Windows registry. I am classifying it as portable because you basically need to tweak the setting for each photo (it does not have a batch mode), so having portable settings does not really buy you anything. |

An awesome little photo enhancer that works wonders with underexposed photos! I have both the free Digital Camera Enhancer and the paid DCAutoEnhance from the author. And despite the free version using "older" algorithms, sometimes I think it still does a better job than the newer, paid version.
Surprisingly useful and effective versus the host of other graphics editors I've seen. Has a few targeted features that can really turn around a dull picture. The user interface is clunky (could use some drag-and-drop) but its worth the extra effort for turning around important but dull pictures.
