One note though, in order to run it as portable (and not create a stickies folder in your Documents and Settings\Application Data folder) you need to set the working directory to the install directory directory when you run it.  Patman: Search no further, this is THE best sticky note program you will find. Been using it as portable for over a year, never lost a note, never had a single problem.  Grump: Worked fine on Xp laptop, but failed on both 98SE
machines tested on with error message "Unable to
initialize DAO/Jet db engine". Main fix I found end

registry change and is aimed at Xp. Based on this, it

 Walter: I agree that's a great program.
BUT, the fact that there isn't a zip version to download makes it cumbersome to upgrade.
For example, I installed 7.00 a few days ago, now I have to install 7.00a and its all over again install/uninstall/et c.

(For that reason alone, I'd use PNotes, but I can't figure out how to display all notes with a single click!) [2009-11-03 08:57]

 Walter: I correct myself. You CAN easily upgrade from a previous version. I've just upgraded to 7.0a like this:

stickies_setup_7.0a.exe -extract

This will extract the files into the current folder. Just overwrite the old ones, and the version will be updated.

 PR1ME: Sweet program, but it is NOT portable. It stores its info in the Applications Data folder, it stores PreFetch settings, and all kind of stuff. All on C drive. It's dependent on those things, and there seems to be no way to break the dependencies. [2010-02-24 06:46]
