Track down the big files or directories on your computer. Whenever you're running out of drive space, its always easiest to look at the biggest files and consider moving them to CD or DVD. System backups are also easier when you can see what is going where. I use this at least twice a month.

A great program that can match SpaceMonger (which writes to the registry, and available here).
Note that the version in the software is 1.3x instead of 1.4 as documented in the authors website.

Yes, the version from the web site is v1.31, but be aware that this program does not handle files larger than 32GB. Had a directory containing 200GB of files, the largest being 37GB and this program reported that the directory contained only 11GB of files (and likewise the total size for the drive was wrong too). Would recommend this program instead: http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=631

Certainly one of my favorite disk usage programs, but recently found that it won't let you click on a given file structure and open that in Explorer. Most other viewers have this option and its seems like a bit gap.

@Nocseiz

I hope someone from TPFC is keeping track of some of the suggestions listed, this app has not been developed for ages, as far as I can tell the site has been abandoned due to the dev's passing in 2002, the site maybe 2006.

The site's forum link forwards to 'lulu's love shack' so I quickly closed the page.

Maybe TPFC could host a safe copy, if only to pay homage to Jan Horn.

V1.31
