Nowhere does it say this is an anti virus or anti malware in the description. I figured it out by the category its in. It would be nice if the description was more accurate.

For Clam Sentinel to work consistently on different computers from a portable drive with different drive letters I found it necessary to edit ClamWin Portable's ClamWin.conf file located in App > DefaultData > settings. Here's what I did (the ClamWinPortable directory is at the root of my portable drive and quotes are for clarification only):
REPLACE "clamscan = clamscan.exe" WITH "clamscan = ..\..\..\..\ClamWinPortable\App\clamwin\bin\clamscan.exe"
REPLACE "quarantinedir = ..\..\..\Data\quarantine" WITH "quarantinedir = \ClamWinPortable\Data\quarantine"
REPLACE "database = ..\..\..\Data\db" WITH "database = \ClamWinPortable\Data\db"
Also: COMMENT OUT from ClamWin.conf "logfile = ..\..\..\Data\log\ClamScanLog.txt" and in the ClamSentinel.ini file ADD "PathLog=\ClamWinPortable\Data\log"

So to confirm we must first run ClamWin Portable and then run this?

@carbonize - The developer's instructions say: "After Sentinel is installed on the USB, you do not have to start ClamWin Portable any more—Sentinel will find the ClamWin Portable files it needs on the USB key. You do not need ClamWin Portable running in order to use Sentinel, but you should have both programs configured on USB as mentioned. You will need to start ClamWin Portable, however, in order to update the ClamWin signature database." Instead of starting ClamWin Portable to update the database I use ClamWinPortableDBUpdate referenced in the ClamWin Portable page http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=601 . (The DB Update link isn't working properly at the moment.)

@emmanuel d - Did you read the configuration instructions linked to in the description?

Next, as mentioned above, you will have to configure Sentinel to use the .ini configuration file that is in the same folder from where Sentinel is run (in the ClamWin\bin directory on the USB). The configuration item is UseLocalIniFile (1=yes; 0=no, which is the default). This option is enabled by manually changing it to 1. Open the Sentinel.ini file in Notepad or similar text editor and make the manual change and save the .ini file.
