Converber is a unit converter that supports more than 1,300 various units of measure in 38 categories. Converber converts everything from length and force to flow and temperature. Includes a favorites menu, find utility, can download updates to its conversion file, and the conversion file itself can be edited. The browser-like forward and back buttons can jump between conversion measurements.
Alternatively, Converber Portable is also available.

Ok, as of this date, 11-28-2011, the download to this program doesn't work. It goes to the home web page, but no option to download. ...............someone on this web page needs to know this.

Which converter is the most complete...? For me, all of the available converters here. However, I think the best solution is that you can add your unit on your own. This feature can be fount in the opensource Sourceforge project "Unit Converter"( http://sourceforge.net/projects/unit-converter/ ).

Converber Version 1.7.1 tested on Win98SE
This is a nifty unit conversion program, but a little tricky to start using. After unzipping, you might want to delete the dozen language files you'll never use. As soon as you start it for the first time, you might want the change Options > Files > Use single global preference file.
The biggest problem with getting started is that the default number mode is useless - no decimal point! Go to Options > Numbers and select Decimal symbol, enter Negative sign, Digit grouping etc to your taste and all will be well. (The author needs to fix this default so new users don't assume the program is broken!)
A more minor glitch is that the unit quantity defaults to zero before anything is typed, but as you select units that default zero sometimes acts like a one. And it is not allowed to convert a unit to itself, which adds unnecessary confusion...
This program seems like a very powerful, user-configurable tool. All of the units and formulas are in a simple plain text ini file.

Does anyone else have a problem using this program on a system that has it's default language for non-unicode programs set to something else besides English (in my case: Chinese). Many units have question marks (?) in the unit's name and it doesn't convert between some units.

1: use Favorites
2: use menu View, Show Common Units, i think the numbers after 100= are the Common Units
3: use Tools, Conversion Editor

Anybody have any tips to editing the conversions.ini file? For example I don't want to go to the distance category and scroll through 100 things to find inches past 99 items that I will never use.

This is a perfect unit converter. The categorizes are kind of "must haves".
