I often use 'nosleep' during nocturn download ... this keep my pc 'alive' ... it is little, portable and really do his work !

This is a very handy little app but the author changed the interface slightly somewhere between V1.51 and V1.71 and, IMHO, did a desservice. The older interface seemed more functional to me.

It doesn't block shutdown/sleep/logoff,etc if it is forced, try shutting down with process explorer, or shutdown -f. stops it otherwise.

I use Shut Down Timer instead:

I can't see the analogy to Shut Down Timer? That looks like a programme to set when to shut down the PC.
The thing about "Don't Sleep" is that it blocks shutdown or standby mode. A lot of new PC will automatically shut down when idle, which is annoying if you are for instance downloading stuff on a mobile internet connection, meaning that connection is broken and download lost.
I been using "Don't Sleep" for a while now, and must say it is a fantastic little programme :-)

I've been using Don't Sleep for some time now and it works great for me. It updates frequently but I never had a problem with the many previous versions. I use it when doing routine unattended maintenance, when making large backups and downloads.

I have been using 'nosleep' for many years, but this app is far superior. You can set it to activate and block your screensaver for a given amount of time and then exit completely. What's even better is that it saves settings to an INI file, making it portable ! Thanks ! ! !
