CrystalDiskMark is benchmarks disk performance, measuring sequential and random 4KB/512KB reads/writes for any storage device. The target device does not need to be formatted.
A 64-bit version is available (within the folder).
Alternatively, CrystalDiskMark Portable is also available, which auto-switches between x86 and x64.

v5.2.0
@ smaragdus: First mentioned by malikorx69 [07 Feb 2008], so this is the forum topic.
guinness post is dated [09 Nov 2009].
I agree to merge the two, but malikorx69's should be first!
v5.0.2
Thanks, smaragdus, nicely done -- but as the topic you found is a single post, I think we should ask webfork to merge it with the current official topic. What do you think?
v5.0.2
I think the right forum thread is this:

v5.0.2
Just tested it and it seems to be writing the settings file to the app folder correctly at this point. I think you can change this to stealth now.
v3.0.2c
it's a nice idea but i've heard people say that benchmarks like this are worthless because disk caching. unless the temp files are bigger than the caches, the results are bogus.
This software is not stealth, it creates CrystalDiskMark30.ini in the user's folder.
A remarkable number of commercial disks are benchmarked using this tool. It's a must-have for comparing hardware performance.
