Manga Meeya is an image viewer with an emphasis on comic/manga reading. It supports very fast viewing, reading the internals of numerous archive formats (RAR, ZIP, CBZ, CBR) and recursive archive traversal (ZIP within ZIP, RAR with ZIP etc). Everything is customizable, including menus, keyboard shortcuts etc. You can explore in thumbnail mode, and optional flip animation gives additional realism when browsing.

The program has variety of viewing options specific to comics, including filters to automatically sharpen, brighten, resize, rotate, or crop images. Slideshow, scale, and mouse gestures are also supported.

The download link is broken, ... you land on a website where "they check your browser", and then you have have to agree to install an extension .... and this is where I gave up.
I got the "MangaMeeya" somewhere else on the internet (I can't remember where, bcz as a precaution I used a live DVD to download the app). What I downloaded is clean (the .exe has a score of 1/69 on Virustotal, and all the DLLs are clean).
I tested rapidly the app: it is very fast.

DL-ed it- Used it- Loved it
It's Irreplaceable

The only problem for me is it's bookmark feature
I'd say Comic Viewer is better when it comes to Bookmarking

Apart from speed and general configurability, the unique point and what I like most about MangaMeeya is mouse gestures. Setting them up takes a little time and thought, but the payback is huge. Not only does it speed up navigation and makes is very direct but after a while, the gestures become automatic and instinctive, like changing gears when driving a bike or car. Not just flipping pages but all functions one is likely to use from time to time can be associated with mouse movement so that, in the end, the need to leave full screen view or look away from the action to locate keys or buttons or menu entries doesn't arise any more. This makes MangaMeeya the closest computer screen equivalent to reading comic books the old way I'm aware of. Switching between different views and configuring preferred view settings, like thumbnail size, makes browsing through large collections a breeze as well, and the program generally does nearly everything I might need a viewer for very well - and fast. MangaMeeya's development stopped many years ago, and I continue to regularly look out for something *even* better and check out other viewers. But, as sad as it is, they don't seem to ever catch up. Even after so many years time there was to catch up, I'm regularly disappointed by alternative viewers lack of features or the impossibility to configure them to do things the way I like. CDisplayEx, for example, doesn't integrate the mouse well at all.

not bad! i can't say yet that it will replace CDisplaEX as my primary reader, but it has some nice features i have not seen in other apps.

i just wish someone would make a comic reader that is a bit more intuitive and modern...

For archived photos and such CDisplay or CDisplayEX are still the best in my opinion;but for any one who actually reads as many archived digital comics as I do,this is the program of choice.I really like the configuration options too.
I upx'ed mine down to 802KB!! And that's pretty decent for usb usage.

Downloaded it to check it out and it looks good. Currently I use ComicsViewer (http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=210, but this one looks good, I'm going to check it out.

One feature I found, which I love, is that page turns are like a real book - you SEE the page turn.
