[Anonymous] MikeThis is fantastic! This is the portable remote control solution I've been looking for. [2009-09-11 14:07]

[Anonymous] cLoWnSI just get a blank screen when connected, odd. Both machines have DX9 installed and connect fine but still just get a black blank screen. Any ideas? [2009-09-11 17:26]

[Anonymous] AiadiClowns: I'm getting exactly the same problem. Tried several things including disabling the firewall to no avail. Anybody knows the solution. [2009-09-11 20:57]

[Anonymous] Freeware Pharmacy@cLoWnS, Aiadi: ZeroRemote (like most remote desktop programs) may have issues if your remote system is playing full screen video. For example, when I remote into a Boxee home theater PC I can control what's on the screen but I can't see any of it. You may also want to make sure that the port your ZeroRemote server is using is forwarded correctly on your router if applicable: http://portforward.com/ [2009-09-11 23:14]

[Anonymous] cLoWnSRe-tried this from one laptop to another and worked fine ... just wont work from my laptop to my server ... odd. I'm not running any video, just trying to view the desktop. Not sure what the problem is. Both systems run through the same firewalled router. [2009-09-11 23:35]

[Anonymous] QueueYou can often get screen-capturing software (whether it be basic screenshots or full video) to be able to capture video by reducing the hardware acceleration slider in advanced display options. [2009-09-12 07:24]

[Anonymous] AiadiThanks FPharmacy (nice site by the way). Unfortunately still no joy despite LogMeIn and TeamViewer working absolutely fine. Seems tp be some flaw with this software. [2009-09-12 09:26]

[Anonymous] manonstreetSpeedCat: Using google translate, it appears that yes, ZeroRemote is the successor to IgRemote [2009-09-12 13:36]

[Anonymous] Tech personIt would be nice to have the actual link to the file, as even with Google translate, I can't make heads nor tails of that site. Perhaps the author's site is a little to... scripted?

btw: I use uvnc all the time and like it quite well.

[Anonymous] JustBlogTried, but not so good, but I still like LogMeIn and TeamViewer more...

[Anonymous] sarticSHIFT key doesn't work for me. I am using it on LAN. It's bad that it has no reverse connection. All my VNC connection are behind NAT. [2010-07-07 07:00]

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
