Mike: There's an option on the Tools menu to build a portable version of Double Driver. Just select a folder on your USB stick and it will copy the files over to a new folder called Double Driver Portable.
This is a great, great app. There is no easier way to back up your drivers. [2009-08-14 14:16]
BillyBob: I don't see what you mean by "offers you the chance to update to the latest version". This implied to me that it offers the ability to update the drivers, but I don't see that, or the ability to update to the latest version of the application. [2009-08-14 15:27]
Asterisk: Unfortunately, this app doesn't seem to collect the security catalog files (.cat) for all drivers. This causes Windows not to recognize driver signatures, making them difficult to install automatically.
It can be difficult to identify the correct security catalog for a particular driver since Windows typically renames all of the core driver files to OEM*.* during instalation, while the inf file still references the catalog by its original name; however, the catalog can often be discovered by locating the proper registry keys - this tool doesn't seem to look there. Ivaneck: I'm unable to see the update to last version feature. [2009-11-09 14:49]

someguy: Watch out, one poster here said antivir thought dd.dll was infected. When I ran it on my machine (had not seen that post yet), AVG freaked and says it's infected with "psw.onlinegames3.atjb". Use at your own risk. [2010-08-27 02:22]

All HTML tags will be removed from your comment. URLs (http, https, ftp) will be automatically detected and hyperlinked. I reserve the right to delete irrelevant, frivolous or offensive comments. For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
