[Anonymous] VennsUnfortunately this tool resets all changes everytime I start it.
Does anybody know how to fix that?

[Anonymous] RickManually editing the settings.reg file in the Data directory seems to be the only way to permanently change settings. Now, does anyone know how to kill the splash screen? [2007-08-02 10:32]

[Anonymous] ChrisTested on W2K. When any drive name or file name is clicked, GPF 0xC000001D at 0x00419627 occurs. [2007-08-02 13:28]

[Anonymous] macBroken download link! [2008-01-26 04:36]

[Anonymous] macHere's is the download link: http://www.explorerxp.com/index.html [2008-01-26 04:38]

[Anonymous] jim37That download link works fine, but it goes to the primary ExplorerXP web site and not the ExplorerXP Portable Wrapper web site. If this program needs the wrapper to be portable, then the program itself must not be natively portable. [2008-06-07 12:20]

[User] donaldCould not download this application directly.

Found that the Internet WaybackMachine did not have a copy, but they did have the MD5 sum (2e784a6af4c623e43f8d28b2b9e02a1a)and you can view that here: http://web.archive.org/web/20071012003948/http://mi3soft.info/Software/Portable/explorerxp-portable/

I found two downloads on MediaFire.com but only one was able to match the reported size and the MD5 sum.

http://www.mediafire.com/?2sxjydymbzn (matched with this MD5 sum 2e784a6af4c623e43f8d28b2b9e02a1a)

I also found another much larger file that may or may not be genuine: http://www.mediafire.com/?ehxmnhht1xm
It has the following description from windows:"Win32 Cabinet Self-Extractor" It is about 2mb and has an MD5 sum of dd230b61f7bbd6cb22a339647da29bb7

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
