BillyBob: This is not a *bad* application, but Stickies (http://portablefreeware.com/?id=264) is far better in my opionion. The skins in PNotes are kind of nice and you can change fonts and colors but only per note. Stickies allows different font types and colors within the same note, as well as bullet points and more pormatting options, and much more flexible alarm / sleep / repeat options. On top of all that, Stickies also allows you to send notes to other people across TCP if they're configured to accept notes, or via email if they're behind a firewall or other inaccessible network. Nordlicht: Stickies is better in my opinion too. For example the size of notes in PNote is erverytime the same. Ich you have more text, you can't read it, because the note is not resizable. [2007-07-06 21:09]
brembo: ... and ... better than Stickies is (imho) ATnotes. Unfortunately ATnotes is no more developed, but it is still the best post-it manager. [2007-07-07 09:40]
brembo: P.S.: you can find ATnotes here:

MGH: I get an error saying the skin file does not exist and it wants to quit. Anyone have any ideas? [2007-09-06 22:42]
Nico: I entierly agree with brembo. It's my weekly programmable awakening with an internet radio. [2007-09-07 06:54]
OliverK: I actually like this program. I am the developer of the PortableApps.com version of this program.
BillyBob: I have no answer for you, you seem to know the program well.
Nordlicht: You can have different sized notes, just use a skinless note.
MGH: No ideas. Perhaps a corrupt skin, or you're attempting to use 1x or 2x skins in 3x, which PNotes can't do
I use it becuase it is open source. That, and I am biased being a developer of the PAF version. [2008-05-12 15:24]
a: i will use this rarely but it seems like it will come in handy when i need the use for such an application.
@OliverK, what's the difference between this and the your portableapps release. please don't tell me it's packaged just for the portable apps suite. :O [2008-05-30 20:26]
Walter: Anyone know of a Sticky Note freeware that incorporates smileys? [2008-12-30 15:56]
Em Jay: Is there a way to transfer all of my notes from version 5 to version 6? I have about 100 notes in version 5... Thanks.
I like this app very much; use it all of the time to keep track of all sorts of stuff... [2010-06-25 22:09]

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
