[Anonymous] JohnThis is an excellent program. I've often wanted access to my Truecrypt volumes when on computers without admin rights. [2007-06-14 13:28]

[Anonymous] ChrisI second that - a great little peace of software! I have been waiting for an opportunity to use TC-volumes without admin-rights for so long and now here it is. The need to copy the files out of the TC-volume to a temporary directory elsewhere may seem a bit complicated but simply is the price to pay for. And imho it is by far worthwhile... [2007-06-14 23:24]

[Anonymous] tmWhat a great little program, with so much potential and possibility.

It does however, need some "HowTo" use information. For example, advice that it does not open NTFS formated drive-files. How it actually works etc? What is the temporary directory? I tried setting one, it did not remember it (Perhaps I just didn't know how to use it). Users need information like that to appreciate an application!

It could also use some right-click options if at all possible - because you are stuck in the dialog and no mouse action seems to do anything except move up and down the directories. But, through trial and error I learnt that drag to-and from does work.

Nevertheless, great effort. It's what I have looking for for a long time. Thank you

Toni

[Anonymous] ZackAn excellent idea, yet badly implemented. I tried accessing a normal volume I had created with TrueCrypt recently and the program crashed. Also, I had a hard time terminating it. I would not recomend this program to anyone (however, this doesn't apply to TrueCrypt which I support wholeheartedly). [2007-06-29 15:26]

[Anonymous] LonerMore documentation is needed, this program's overall purpose escapes me. The explanation is not clear here or on the developer's web pages. Do they assume everyone knows what they are thinking? HELP! [2007-09-06 10:06]

[Anonymous] awith this you can basically open/read/write to (fat formated) truecrypt volumes without the need for admin privelages, but youll need truecrypt to create the volumes. did that help? [2007-09-06 16:27]

[Anonymous] Jakegood program. simple too. not one i'm going to use a lot, but because you don't need admin privileges it is very useful which makes it an excellent portable program. also, very easy to use... [2007-09-25 09:31]

[Anonymous] lolosneeds support for win98..please [2007-10-14 21:11]

[Anonymous] Spindrift**This does NOT work with the latest version (5.0 or above) of truecrypt at present - suggest using 4.3c or earlier (of truecrypt) [2008-02-06 12:10]

[Anonymous] alepiVersion 1.6 does NOT work with version 4.3c or earlier of truecrypt. Version 1.5.1 and 1.5 work. [2008-03-03 14:43]

[Anonymous] rasdonnyPeepz, For this version of TCExplorer to work, you have to use Truecrypt v4.3a to create the volume. Then you can use this to view and edit your volumes without the need to mount them!

Hope this helps someone, as i had to test all the versions of Truecrypt & TCExplorer i could find, to come to this conclusion!

[Anonymous] H. JensDOESN'T WORK - except with VERY OLD truecrypt software.

FreeOTFE Explorer is more professional, and has a lot more functionality.

[Anonymous] gkOnly supports insecure CBC encryption - FreeOTFE Explorer is more secure as it uses XTS [2009-08-25 15:57]

[Anonymous] TedConfirmed - TCExplorer doesn't work [2010-04-27 13:53]

When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
