a: looks awesome! what's the system requirements? [2007-04-05 13:22]
junaid: System requirements? [2007-04-05 22:32]
mic: It's based on Quake3 engine, so it should have similar requirements. [2007-04-06 03:39]
[BOT]Fluffy: As with most of ID's engines, Quake 3 can be configured to run on all ranges of hardware. I'm not sure what the minimum requirements are, but most modern systems should be able to run WoP in at least 640 x 480 resolution with low/medium effects. [2007-04-06 15:13]
Dummie: Is 550MB portable? [2007-04-07 13:51]
Chris: @Dummie, In a world of cheap 1GB USB Sticks. Yeah, 500mb is portable. [2007-04-07 20:31]
smiley: [...]How to extract: Download the installer and install to the default location. Move all files except UnWoP.exe to a folder of your choice.[...]
O.O This is not the intention of an installation program ;) of course you can choose the installation destination within the installer ;)
btw. the system requirements are a bit higher than quake3 due to the fact that we really max out that engine ;)
iŽd recommend at least a P4 1.4GHz, 512MB RAM and a Geforce4 Ti4200 - this way you can play fine in the default GFX settings.

Fisty: Smiley: Yeah, you can choose where to install it to. However, this site is for "portable" programs. If you install something, its not exactly "portable."
If you install the program, copy the files, then uninstall, then you can (possibly) have a portable installation you can use off of a USB drive or portable HDD (as long as no registry entries are written, etc). [2007-04-13 16:26]

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
