I've been using QLock for a while now. I only use it to manage times in different countries as we have developers from all over the world working with us. It's a great little program that I recommend to anyone.

How is this application portable if it creates the Qlock data folder in: C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Application Data\?

Yes, I am talking about XP ;)

I normally re-test every single software update. Can't say for sure I did so with Qlock V.1.88 too but I believe this portability issue was introduced with the release of V1.89.

Softpedia offers V.1.86 portable for download.

Thanks for your reply I am Baas.

I confirm that v.1.86 (downloaded here: http://www.softpedia.com/dyn-postdownload.php?p=102077&t=4&i=1) is in fact portable and it does not create the Qlock data folder in Application Data which v.1.88 does create.

I did not notice such a great difference between the 2 versions (probably the difference is only in the locations database / cities.dat file) and I can confirm that both qlock.ini and qlock-profile-1.ini created by v.1.88 work (and keep all settings and locations) under the v.1.86 downloaded at Softpedia.

In your comment you mentioned v.1.89 but the latest version I see on the homepage is 1.88... Typo, right?

@ I am Baas

I was wrong, also the homepage indicates v1.89 as the latest version but the download link gets you v1.88... That's where I got mixed up... Anyway sorry about the confusion.

The Changelog seem to indicate that the changes between v1.86 and v1.89 are mostly affecting the Pro features so the folks using the free v1.86 should not really notice any difference ;)

- Fixed: Bug that triggered alarms when using "When time is.."

- Fixed: Improved XML parsing for feeds

- Fixed: Minor XML Atom feed link problem

- Update: Updated FX Rate fetch location

- Fixed: Profile data sync and file location bug.

Qlock V1.89 is not portable. Writes to AppData. Read the comments above.

Sorry, I missed that.

Ah, my db changes were stupid again! Do I understand it correctly NOW: v1.86 is actually the last portable one? Then we probably should have that version with the softpedia link above in the db.

I've used this for years now but recently it's started crashing without notice on my Win7x64 machine. I'm actively looking for alternatives.
