Synopsis: Mouse-Only Keyboard (MOK) enables you to enter small pieces of secret text using only the mouse to defeat any hidden keyloggers. When you run it, it disables all clipboard viewers within the system. Use the mouse to enter the secret text, then hit "Copy" to send it to the clipboard before pasting it into the target application. Finally, shut down MOK and the clipboard will be automatically cleared. For the really paranoid.

[Anonymous] wolfprimeThis is a great idea. I couldn't find a link to email the developer so I'll post my idea here. One extra level of security would be to add some ability to pad the clipboard with random letters so even if an application was somehow logging what was in the clipboard, it would get a password that is randomly padded with the wrong characters. [2006-12-21 07:51]

[Anonymous] alpanixThe problem could be that the wrong password would be imported also in the field you need to fill. So there would be no way to log in the account you want to enter. [2006-12-21 08:01]

[Anonymous] dembaThe Author also has an Anti-Keylogger program that claims to disables the clipboard completely. Then you can run MOK with a little more security. [2006-12-22 06:52]

[Anonymous] Anonymous cowardA program for the paranoid, that requires you give out your email address before you download it. Wow. Seriously that makes no sense at all. [2006-12-23 11:50]

[Anonymous] aand it has to be a 'working email address' it cant be.. lets say a temp email like from mailanator.com or spamgourment.com.

if they want to count/limit downloads.. um why not use a freaking download counter, since visiting the site they already have my ip address

[Anonymous] A Non MooseThe program does seem to be featured on a German software site:
http://www.pcwelt.de/downloads/datenschutz/datensicherheit/123036/index.html
http://www.pcwelt.de/index.cfm?pid=233&pk=123036&dl=465&p=2

The 'alternative download site' link points back to myplanetsoft.com.

But they do seem to host a copy of it on their own site:
ftp://pcwelt:dl4pcwftp@download.pcwelt.de/400/465/mok.z.exe

Usual disclaimers apply: YMMV. HTH.

[Anonymous] DanHaha, I find it funny such a "secure" program "for the paranoid" even uses the clipboard. If I wanted to spy on someone with a keylogger, I'd go the extra step and spy on their clipboard as well. [2006-12-28 07:21]

[Anonymous] nobodyyes, this program is worthless/dangerous! [2007-06-15 07:34]

[Anonymous] John GoodinBummer - Should be removed. To Download ANYTHING from this site you MUST share your email address? No privacy statement, just another way for junk email to find you!!! [2008-08-18 10:08]

[Anonymous] FDRCI just downloaded it using ignoremail. They record your IP address when you download the file, so spoof it if you don't want them to see it. But here's the problem with the software: the executable file opens, but there is no on-screen keyboard anywhere. I was ready to start clicking away to test the product, but there isn't even a keyboard to use. The program is pretty much useless. Even the link that it has so you can visit the homepage takes you to a completely different product. I don't know why this thing is even online. [2010-04-08 14:39]

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
