[Anonymous] Andrew LeeOr click on the "Download" link above and select any of the four available mirrors. [2007-04-01 05:28]

[Anonymous] AlephXrel.1.16: the Download from FileForum works. From FreewareFiles it gets the previous version. [2007-04-15 23:51]

[Anonymous] AnneeeDo you have a freeware version for Windows Milenium? I know it's basically unsupported everywhere now, but it was working most of the time for me. We are in a wait period of about 6 months before buying a new computer. Suddenly there's another TR that I can't find to remove. [2007-04-19 00:18]

[Anonymous] denashtry to get: "a-squared free" from www.emsisoft.com it should remove that TR for ever (this programm helped me often but you have to be careful what things you delete with that programm) If you dont know properly what do NOT remove any tracs everything else can be removed. (it is also portable but writes settings into the registry I think) [2007-04-29 04:06]

[Anonymous] DianaCrap. It's _not_ portable. On computers nowadays, we're not allowed administrator rights. Don't care if it only writes 1 entry to the registry, can't unpack it because it prompts for administrator rights!!! True portable apps don't do this. This should be fixed so that it can be simply unpacked _without_ touching the registry AT ALL!!! [2007-12-28 14:10]

[Anonymous] MiDoJoExtract does not work. Install>copy>uninstall is the procedure needed [2008-02-27 14:19]

[Anonymous] extractorthe uniextract works for me.. program runs, didn't find anything, so I can't tell if my system is good, or it doesn't find much... but I've only had this system running for a month.. [2008-02-27 19:48]

[Anonymous] FoxI don't have MSVBVM60.DLL .... where should it go? [2008-03-31 14:10]

[Anonymous] awheckNo longer exists! Go ahead and click the link, if you do it takes you to the site, you can download MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, which contains the Rogue Remover, however, is not portable to the best of my knowledge. [2009-02-13 22:06]

[Anonymous] Prosayist.. Version 1.24 is still available from http://tinyurl.com/brrgfs (shortcut to the relevant SnapFiles page; file is actually hosted at the original publisher's site) [2009-02-23 23:36]

[Anonymous] fpelletierNope...this is no longer available at majorgeeks or tinyurl. What's more, with something like an antivirus or antispyware, putting your faith in an old version is worse than not having any tool and still being wary. The ostensible successor is Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware product which is not stealthy...albeit it does work very well. [2009-11-24 18:39]

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
