AutoHotkey v1.1.36.00 Updated

Ennovy on 1 Dec 2022
  • 7MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 1 Dec 2022
  • Suggested by Jon Pajela

AutoHotkey is a powerful automation and scripting tool with an option to export to a self-contained executable. Possible uses include assigning the hotkey "Ctrl-Alt-F" to launch Firefox, making abbreviations expand to their full definition as you type them, or saving time by setting the computer to auto-click a confirmation screen.

The program can create entire applications and has been used to create many hosted here on PortableFreeware including 7plus, WallPaper Randomizer, Gridy and many more.

Note: Pulover's Macro Creator can be used as a macro recorder and includes an "Export to AHK" function.

Category:
Runs on:WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10 / Win11
Writes settings to: Application folder
Stealth: ? No. By default, it places an ahk script file in user documents. However, if you place a ahk file with the same name alongside the executable (eg. autohotkey.exe => autohotkey.ahk), it becomes stealth.
Unicode support: Yes
License: GNU GPLv2
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch AutoHotkeyU32.exe or AutoHotkeyU64.exe (for 64-bit OS).

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but if you download the installer and extract, you get all the exes (32/64 unicode and ansi), Window Spy, the help chm, a template and the ahk2exe compiler.

emmanuel d on 2021-06-02 05:56

Also it is stealth if you place a ahk file named the same as the executable, it wil not place anything in the user directory. So if your executable is "autohotkey.exe" name it "autohotkey.ahk"

@emmanuel d: Thanks! I have updated the description.

It does appear to be stealth? When I first ran it, it created a 'appData/Roaming/Diffinity/diffinity.cfg' file, but if you copy that file to the portable location, delete the appdata folder and run Diffinity again, the cfg file isn't created.

@Fire The Fox: Have you submitted it to V!rusTotal to substantiate you allegation?

Antiv!rus false positives are overly common and Norton isn't exempt from them. Without having tested it, I doubt a proven reliable (multi-platform) software like Ocenaudio has all of a sudden become a source of malware.

Until then, please keep your recommendations to yourself as they amount to little more than public slander.

Midas on 2019-10-14 09:41

On a side note, I had to disguise my reply because it fell foul of the site's banned word list while Fire The Fox accusation of Ocenaudio sailed through by using plurals...

webfork on 2019-10-15 22:48

@Fox: You might want to run files you test through VirusTotal before posting. I rechecked both 32 and 64 bit and both are safe.

WizTree v4.12 Updated

  • 13MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 30 Nov 2022
  • Suggested by I am Baas

WizTree is a very fast disk space analyzer and search tool, scanning a single folder or your entire hard drive quickly and showing those files and folders using the most disk space. The program uses the NTFS Master File Table (MFT) feature in Windows to rapidly view files.

Note that this high-speed mode is limited to local, NTFS-formatted drives. The program must do a (much slower) scan of FAT-formatted or network drives for analysis.

No idea what to tell you, 3.35 does not do this, 3.36 does... Guess we need more people to chime in here.

I'm also going to delete my comments "soon-ish" here because this is not the place to do troubleshooting, posting IPs, ect. Maybe the forums is better place for back and forth or PMs.

Yes, it's official site policy to conduct malware related discussions in the forums. Please do.

The latest ZIP or 7Z package does not seem to have a 64bit version (the name being vlc-3.0.16-win32). Moreover, you need to create the portable subfolder only in the same folder as vlc.exe.

lwc on 2021-11-05 04:05

Per the last comment (or rather comments), it's true VLC is infamous for never including the 64 bit in the regular download page.
I've therefore edited the entry to link to an official archive (more techy page) that always contains both the latest 64 and 32 bit versions (in both 7Z and regular ZIP).

PAFuser on 2022-03-07 20:48

Also available from PortableApps.com (32 bit). (64 bit can replace PortableApps 32 bit files.)

@thepiney: Same here. I've used magnet links no problem. The only time I've had errors is when the program loses access to the downloaded torrent files while it's still trying to share them (if you deleted or moved the downloaded files without deleting the torrent file). I moved from uTorrent because they started adding advertising, but there are settings tweaks to remove it.

JudyGarland on 2019-12-05 06:31

Qbittorrent does not support Windows XP and Vista anymore from v.4.2.0, though 'portableapps' seems not aware of that.
Please update 'System Requirements' section.

Hi, from the changelog of qbittorrent 4.2.1: (not the portableapps.com version)
